Biography

Bianca has been interested in music since she was a child. Organist for the parish for over fifteen years, she studied piano and organ with Linda Cyr of the College Vincent d'Indy. She then attended courses in singing with Ranee Lee, Barry Thompson, Ian Lebofsky and Lucille Dumont.

BIANCA HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE ART INDUSTRY FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS.

In concert on the big stage of the 2010 Canada Day in Ville Lasalle, accompanied by her trio, she has given us, on some festive dance rhythms, songs from her eponymous album and from a mix of well-known success from Quebec, French, Italian and American musical repertoires.

Bianca has also had this year the immense privilege to live a magical and unforgettable moment in making a tribute to Claude Léveillée. Following the invitation of Radio Ville-Marie to participate in its annual radio-donation day, Bianca has performed the most beautiful songs of that great Québec artist with the complicity of pianist Réal Léveillé.

Bianca offers several shows annually.

  • Indian Resort Hotel in New Hampshire over a period of two months;
  • Montreal Casino, Manoir Richelieu, Ritz-Carlton, Hôtel de La Montagne;
  • XO of the Hotel St. James in the F1 happening;
  • Montreal High Lights Festival in Nuances of the Montreal Casino, accompanied on guitar and mandolin by Tony Romandini;
  • Big Band Blues Block-Note on several occasions;
  • Two mini-shows at the Du Maurier Theatre at Place des Arts;
  • A series of concerts in various restaurants and cabarets in the province;
  • Weddings, corporate, golf tournaments, seniors residences ...

She was able to combine singing, dancing and comedy, by taking part in several musicals:

  • Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux? Théâtre Eastman and on tour in Quebec;
  • Swing and Romance with Pierre Perpall in Casino de Charlevoix and at the Corona;
  • "C'est beau la vie, la tournée automnale" with Claude Blanchard;
  • "Les Crooners", on tour for 5 years;
  • "Sel et Poivre" and "Un monde fou fou fou de Gilles Proulx" at the St-Denis and in province;
  • Christmas Memories at Osaka in Japan.

She performed the national anthems for the Expos, the Alouettes and the Montreal Canadiens.

To the scene, are added recordings of commercials: Tim Hortons (since 2008), Les 3 Brasseurs. Lactantia, McDonald, Tide, Wal-Mart, Balminil

Some radio signature tunes: In Québec, the 98.5fm and in France, Mona FM and Nohain radio.

On the big screen: A song for a movie called Nez Rouge.

As a soloist, Bianca took part in several albums which:

  • « Là où je t'emmènerai » - A journey around the world in pictures and music with Gilles Proulx.
  • Bianca Ortolano (a jazz and bossa flavored eponymous album);
  • "Romances italiennes" with comedian Tony Conte;
  • "Mes Noëls autour du monde" from Gilles Proulx;
  • The Crooners, vol 1,2,3;
  • Christmas Memories;
  • La magie des années 50, vol 1;
  • Ca tourne, on danse, vol 2-3.

As a composer, three of her songs can be found on her eponymous album and one titled "Je me sens libre" can be found on "Au bout du monde" from Martine Bolduc.

Bianca gives singing lessons for several years. She taught at the CME (Carrefour Musical de l'Est), at the « Ma boîte à chansons » Music School in Sorel and at the Cultural Center of Joliette.
